VARSITY HEAD COACH

Colin Devine

Colin Devine is entering his 11th season as Varsity Head Coach of Staples Basketball. Before Staples, Coach Devine spent three years as the JV coach for Trumbull High School. Devine also spent one year as a varsity assistant for New Canaan High School. Devine was also an assistant coach at Southern Connecticut State University. Coach Devine was a three year starter for Trumbull High School earning all-star honors from the Connecticut High School Coaches Association. Coach Devine graduated from Southern Connecticut with a degree in Exercise Science. He currently teaches Physical Education at Staples High School. He resides in Trumbull with his wife Laura and his daughters Caroline and Mckenna.

VARSITY ASSISTANT COACH

Mike Buswell

Mike Buswell has been a Varsity Assistant Coach of Staples Basketball since 2008. Prior to Staples, Coach Buswell has been the Trumbull High School Head Football Coach, as well as the Freshman Basketball Coach at Fairfield Ludlowe High School and a Head Baseball Coach for Trumbull Babe Ruth. Coach Buswell was a three year starter and teammate of Coach Devine at Trumbull High School. Coach Buswell was an all FCIAC selection in football and baseball at Trumbull High School. He went on to play baseball at the University of Bridgeport. Coach Buswell is a Sales and Consulting Representative at Business Electronics, Inc. in Cheshire, CT. He resides in Trumbull with his wife Kory, daughter Ava and son Bryce.

JUNIOR VARSITY COACH

Bob Buswell

Bob is beginning his 2nd season coaching the Staples High School Junior Varsity team. Previously, Bob spent one season as Head Basketball Coach at The University of Bridgeport taking over the program from the Legendary Bruce Webster. He also spent a season as an Assistant Coach at UB. Bob was also Head Coach at The Milford Academy. During his 4 years coaching at Milford, he sent over 30 players to D1 Colleges, 3 of those players Stevie Francis, Norman Richardson and Jerome Moiso going on to play in the NBA. Bob and his wife Michelle live in Oxford and have 2 daughters Christina, 22 and Rebecca, 19.

ASSISTANT VARSITY COACH

David Goldshore

David Goldshore is entering his inaugural year as Varsity Assistant Coach of Staples Basketball. Prior to Staples, Coach Goldshore worked as a Varsity Assistant Basketball Coach at Somers High School in Somers, NY. David grew up in Chappaqua, NY and was a 3 sport Varsity Letterman in football, basketball (captain) and baseball at Horace Greeley High School. Coach graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in 1995. During that time, he worked for Coach Steve Fisher as a Student Manager for the Men’s Basketball Team during the Fab Five Era. Currently, David is the President/CEO of RightClick, a Technology Staffing Firm based in Stamford. Coach Goldshore resides in Westport with his wife, Lauren, daughter Jordyn, and sons, Jake and Justin.

Brian "Buckets" Krost

Coach Krost is entering his first year on the Staples Basketball coaching staff. This Fall he joined Staples Football as a wide receiver and defensive back coach. He spent last season at Wilton High School where he was the Freshman Wide Receiver & Secondary coach. He has been a pitching coach and Athletic Site Director for Ludlowe High School. Brian earned a B.A. in Communications at Western Connecticut State University, where he also pitched, garnering All-LEC honors. He earned his MBA at University of Bridgeport. Brian is currently a substitute teacher in Fairfield.. He has been coaching youth sports for over 10 years and is the Lead Instructor for Fairfield American Little League’s Future Stars program. Brian has volunteered for local leagues and organizations such as Stamford Peace Basketball and Greenwich & Norwalk Youth Flag Football. He resides in Norwalk with his parents Lee & Lynn and his brother John.

A.T.C., L.A.T. - HEAD ATHLETIC TRAINER

Gaetana Deiso

“G” is certified with the National Athletic Trainer’s Association and is licensed through the state of Connecticut. She graduated from Springfield College in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and a minor in Nutrition. She begins her 13th year as Head Athletic Trainer at Staples. Prior to Staples, she worked 5 years as Head Athletic Trainer at Greens Farms Academy and at Moore Center for Rehabilitation. She also worked with Fairfield University’s football and rugby teams from 1999 to 2002. In the summer of 2002, she worked at Boyle’s Strength and Conditioning in Boston, where she trained many professional athletes and Olympic athletes. She was also on the CATA Secondary School Committee from 2007-2012. "G" is a Certified Functional Strength Coach and a TFW (Training For Warriors) Certified Coach. She is the owner of Body Blast Sports Performance. She lives in Trumbull with her husband, Doug, and daughters, Michaela and Gabriella.

Corey Iamonico

Corey is certified with the National Athletic Trainer’s Association and is licensed through the state of Connecticut. She graduated from Sacred Heart University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. Upon graduation Corey worked for Forme Rehabilitation in New York where she was contracted to Eastchester, Tuckahoe, Mount Vernon, & New Rochelle High Schools. She returned to Connecticut in 2009, worked for Innovative Health & Rehabilitation, and covered New Canaan Youth Football, Staples High School in the winter, and worked in the clinic setting during the spring and summer. She is entering her 7th year as Assistant Athletic Trainer at Staples High School. She is also a Certified Kinesio Taping Practioner. Corey is originally from Hartsdale, New York and currently lives in Bridgeport.

Matthew, also known as "Matty" or the "McManager" is a senior at Staples and has been team manager for three years.

Dylan Curran

Dylan spent the fall managing the Staples Varsity Football team and is now making his debut with the basketball team.
